1. Ticket Entrant:

Any person (not including a limited company, partnership or limited liability partnership) who enters the Competition through the Website or by post to win the Prize.

2. The Winner:

2.1 The Entrant chosen at random with a random number generator on or after the Closing Date who will receive the Prize in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

are the sole promoters, the prize draws are not sponsored, run, or endorsed by another other party including Apple, Facebook, Instagram or Youtube.

5.Closing Date:

Here at Shooting Star Competitions;

The maximum amount of entries per competition is always stated on the entry page. As is the date of the draw

Shooting Star competitions reserve the right to extend competition dates, however its our policy not to extend the date if we can help it, however they can be drawn sooner, for example when all the tickets are sold out early. Any changes and information will always be available on the website www.shootingstarcompetitions.co.uk

 

6. The competition

6.1 These terms and conditions apply to all competitions listed on the Promoter’s website at https://www.shootingstarcompetitions.co.uk (our Website)

6.2. All competitions are skill-based competitions in which the ticket entrant must answer the skill based question correctly and an entry fee is payable each time you enter. There is also a free entry route (for more specific details scroll down to 11.8)

6.3 You can enter the competition for free by complying with the following conditions:

(a) send your entry on an unenclosed postcard by first class post to the Promoter at the following address:  Shooting Star Competitions, 269 Southbourne Road, Eastbourne, Eastsussex, BN22 8RE

(b) include with your entry the following information:

(i) your full name

(ii) your address

(iii) a contact telephone number and email address; and

(iv) your chosen competition, and your answer to the Competition Question.

(c) incomplete or indecipherable entries will be disqualified;

(d) you may enter via multiple free entries for any competition (up to the maximum limit of entries per person placed stated on the competition page by the Promoter) but each free entry must be submitted and posted to the Promoter separately. Bulk entries will not be accepted as multiple entries and if a bulk entry is received, it will only be counted as one single entry;

(e) by entering the competition, you are confirming that you are eligible to enter and fully accept these terms and conditions;

(f) your entry must be received by the Promoter prior to the Closing Date. Entries received after the Closing Date will not be entered into the random draw;

(g) the Promoter will not acknowledge receipt of your entry nor confirm if your answer to the Competition Question is correct;

(h) if the number of paid entries reaches the maximum number of tickets available for the competition or the limit before your free entry is received, you will not be entered into the random draw.

(i) Entrants must create an account on the Website for the free entry to be processed. All details on the postcard must correspond to the details on the account to receive the order confirmation and ticket number. Postal entries received without a registered account and not a match of information on said account cannot be processed. Entrants must also add an address to the related account for entries to be processed.

6.4 To be in with a chance of winning, everyone who enters the competition (the “Entrant”) will be required to correctly and clearly answer a question or solve a problem set by the Promoter (the “Competition Question”).

6.5 No refunds of the entry fee will be given, including for reasons below:

(a) Following your entry into the competition, you subsequently find out that you are not eligible to enter the competition or claim the Prize;

(b) Following your entry into the competition, for any reason the eligibility criteria for entering that or any competition or claiming the Prize changes which makes you longer eligible for it; or

(c) if you are disqualified from the competition by the Promoter for any reason.

(d) You the entrant break any laws that is specific to entering prize competitions that renders you ineligible to enter

 

7. General

7.1. These terms and conditions apply to all competitions listed on the Promoter’s website at https://www.shootingstarcompetitions.co.uk/

7.2. All competitions are skill-based competitions and an entry fee is payable each time you enter via our online entry method, or for free via the postal entry method outlined in clause 6.3. and 11.8

7.3. To be in with a chance of winning, everyone who enters the competition (an “Entrant”) will be required to correctly answer a question or solve a problem set by the Promoter (the “Competition Question”).

7.4 By entering the competition via the Website, the entrant is deemed to have read, is aware and accepted these Terms and Conditions and agrees to be bound by them;

When entering the Competition, all entrants must submit all contact details requested by the promoters (which must include your name, valid e-mail address and phone number) which will only be used for the following purposes:

(a) To contact the Winner to inform them they have won the prize;

(b) To post the draw numbers and the winners name on our email and on our social media channels for everyone who has entered to see, only your name will be posted on these outlets and our winners podium, this is so everyone knows what the winning number was and who won after the live draw. We also ask for a picture of the winner and their prize for our website and future promotions, however entrants can opt not to have a picture if they don’t want to.

8. Consent:

8.1 Subject to the Winners consent, the promoter will be permitted to display the Winner’s name and picture next to the prize they have won on the Website in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

8.2 All entrants are solely and completely responsible for providing the promoters with accurate and up to date contact details.

8.3 The promoters will be in no way liable for any failure or inability to make contact with any Entrant due to any errors, exclusions or inaccuracies in the contact details provided by the entrant or otherwise.

8.4 Privacy policy – The entrant and the promoters recognise that the promoters may use contact details given in the sign up process and other data including personal data as defined by the Data Protection Act 1998 supplied by the entrant to the promoters to add to the website and use in the Competitions according to these Terms and Conditions. The entrant and the promoters also recognise that the promoters may (either by choice or at the request of a third party) also disclose this information to relevant third parties for the purposes of the prevention of fraud, money laundering, legal or other financial or regulatory reasons.

 

9. The Competition operated by the promoters:

9.1 The Competition is open for entry to all persons aged 18 or over excluding;

(a) the promoters

(b) their intimidate family and agents

(c) Employees of the Promoter

(d) The promoter reserve the right to conduct administration of the Competitions in any way, shape or form.

9.2 Competitions are governed by English Law and any matters relating to the Competition will be resolved under English Law and the Courts of England shall have jurisdiction.

9.3 By entering a competition, you certify that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition. If you cannot provide the Promoter with any such proof or other information that they may require within a reasonable time, you may be disqualified from the competition.

9.4 In the event that you enter a Competition via the Website, and by doing this you accept these terms and conditions, you henceforth confirm that you are not breaching any laws in your country of residence regarding the legality of entering Shooting Star Competitions. The promoters will not be liable or responsible for any Entrant entering any of our Competitions unlawfully. If in any doubt you should not enter and check with the relevant authorities in your country.

 

9.5 By entering into the Competition, the entrant acknowledges that their payment per entry does not guarantee in any way that they will win the prize, and that if they have answered the skill based question incorrectly the will not be entered into the draw.

 

9.6 The maximum number of entries that can be made by any one entrant on each prize competition, there is a limited number of tickets any one person can purchase per Competition and is stated on the entry page at all times. The promoter is not responsible or liable in any way for the Valuation of the prize and makes no representation or warranties its condition or any other information provided on the Website.

9.7 All entries will become the property of the promoters on receipt and will not be returned.

 

10 The prize

10.1 The promoters do not in any way guarantee the value of the Prize.

10.2 The prize for the competition is described on the Website. Details of the Prize are, to the best of the Promoter’s knowledge accurate at the Opening Date. Prizes are subject to availability. The Promoter reserves the right to provide a substitutive prize with an equal or greater value. If any details of the Prize change, the Promoter will update the Website as soon as reasonably possible.

10.3 The promoters does not imply or give any warranty or accept any valuation to the Prize or guarantee the function or how road worthy the prize is in anyway shape or form. The Entrant accepts this by signing up to the competitions, the entrants are encouraged to seek legal advice before entering the competition.

 

11 Competition entries

11.1 A condition of entering the Competition is that the entrant must ensure that, by entering, they do not offend against the prohibition or order of a law, treaty, or code of conduct in the laws of their country of residence. The promoters will not be liable in any way if an entrant enters the competition unlawfully

11.2 The entrant and the promoters recognise that the Competition and all aspects of the process is governed by English Law. The promoters and entrants acknowledge that the Courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction in the event of any dispute arising out of the competition or its administration;

11.3 By entering a competition, the entrant assures that all information which they submit is accurate, true, up to date, current and complete. The promoters reserve the right to disqualify any entrant (at their own discretion) if there are reasonable belief to believe the Entrant has acted in breach of any of these Terms and Conditions

11.4 All entries will become the property of the promoters on receipt and will not be returned.

11.5 The promoters reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time and for any reason

11.6 To secure an entry into the Competition, an Entrant will be asked to provide their contact details (including post code, address, e-mail address and a telephone number) and card payment details via Stripe (to pay entry fee only). Once the Entry is submitted, the Entrant’s card payment will be electronically approved via the worlds most popular and secure online payment system Stripe.

11.7 Competition entries cannot be made on behalf of other people. If it comes to our attention that a person has entered under multiple names/addresses then all current and future entries from this person will be void, this goes for paid entries via the website and free entry via post.

 

11.8 Free postal entry route

(a) There is an option enter a competition for free to do this please send a postcard, envelope or letter pre-paid first or second class. clearly stating your name, address, telephone number, email address, what competition you’re entering and the answer to the competition question to us at the following address: Shooting Star Competitions, 269 Southbourne Road, Eastbourne, Eastsussex, BN22 8RE. All free entries must be received 24 hours before the close of the competition. One entry per postcard. All free postal entries are processed exactly the same as paid entries via the website. Please note: You must register for an account online before sending postal entries. Postal entries received without a registered account cannot be processed. You must add your billing address to your account and the details must match in order for your entry to be processed. Entries must be submitted via first or second class post. Bulk entries are not accepted and if received will count only as one single entry. If you wish to enter for free multiple times you can only enter up until the maximum number of entries allowed per user per competition which is stated on the website on the competition page. Each free entry must be submitted separately on a postcard, envelope or letter pre-paid first or second class and posted on separate days.

(b)You must have created an account on the Website for the free entry to be processed. All details on the postcard MUST correspond to the details on the account to receive the order confirmation and ticket number. Postal entries received without a registered account cannot be processed.

(c) You must be fully legally eligible to enter, agree to our Terms & Conditions and your entry must be received by the Promoter prior to the Closing Date.

11.9 When the maximum Number of entries or the Closing Date is reached, the Competition will close.

12 All Entries to the Competition are final and no refunds shall be made at any time or for any reason, except in the case of entries submitted after the Closing Date or in exceptional circumstances that have been discussed with the support team at Shooting Star Competitions Ltd.

12.1 The promoters decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into about the result of the Competition following the announcing of the Winner.

12.2 Each Entrant agrees that the usual requirement under the Consumer Protection Distance Selling Regulations (2000) for any goods and services ordered online to be supplied within 30 days will not apply to the Prize Competitions.

12.3 If the Winner cannot be contacted by the promoter within 37 days of being notified of their status as the Winner by e-mail, telephone and mail as per the contact details submitted in their sign up and entry to the competition, the promoter shall be entitled to award the Prize to the Entrant selected by drawing another winning entry at random in the same method. The alternate winner shall have 7 days from notification of their status after this 30 day period by the promoter to confirm and take possession their acceptance of the Prize.

12.4 Entries are limited to one person per household. If it comes to our attention that more than 1 person per household is entering into a competition all entries from that address will be void.

 

 

13. Closing the competition:

13.1 The Winners give consent to allow the promoter to display their name on the Website for draw results then later along with a picture next to or with the prize for our “winners” section in accordance with the Privacy Policy. The name of the Winner maybe be posted on the Website for the purposes of announcing the Winner of the Competition within 24 hours of the Winner being chosen by our random number generator.

13.2 Entrants give permission for the promoter to enter their personal details into their private and secure database and to use the information in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998 and subject to the terms of Privacy Policy.

13.3 The promoter reserve the right to cancel the Competition at any time either before or after tickets have been sold. If the Competition is cancelled, the promoters will return the Entry Fees to each Entrant (by bank card refund or as payment was made). When the Entry Fee is returned, the promoter shall have no further liability to the Entrant or to any other person.

13.4 The promoter makes no depiction or warranty as to the Value of the Prize, its structural integrity or cosmetic condition or its ability to be sold. Entrants should take on their own enquiries and legal advice about the Prize before entering the Competition.

13.5 Save for death or personal injury the promoter will not be liable for any loss (including economic loss) suffered to or sustained by any person or property as a result of any act or omission of the promoter, nor will their servants or their agents in developing, planning and Administrating the Competition, distributing the Prize to the Winner or following the distribution of the Prize; The promoter accepts no liability for errors or omissions contained within the Prize details, description or specification or any other part of the Website. It is the responsibility of each Entrant (and in particular the Winner) to satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of any such details and/or any content of this website.

13.6 The promoters will not be liable for any loss suffered by an Entrant as a result of incomplete entries or failed computer communications or for any loss suffered as a result of use of the Website.

13.7 The promoters do not accept responsibility for entries which they do not receive due to failures in computer systems, other malfunctions, high Internet traffic, hardware failure, software failure, server faults or any other reason.

13.8 These competition rules shall not create or be construed as creating any form of contract, joint venture or other agreement between any Entrant and the promoters.

13.9 An entry shall be declared void (without any refund being given) if the entrant engages in: (a) any form of fraud (actual or apparent); (b) fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) fraudulent concealment; (d) hacking or interference with the proper functioning of the website or App; or (e) amending, or unauthorised use of, any of the code that constitutes the Website.

14 All entrants agree to taking a winner’s picture to be used on our Previous winners page on the website and on social media pages if they are to win any competition. We also may use winners’ pictures for 3rd party advertisements and media publications.

15 Selecting a winner:

15.1 The winning Entrant will be selected at Random using a number generator live on Facebook, full details will be confirmed once the draw has been concluded via either of the explained ways. The decision will be made within 48 hours of the close of the competition for the exact date/time.

15.2 There will only be one winner per competition unless otherwise stated.

15.3 If the contest is completed and the Prize is issued successfully then the prize will be transferred by the promotors to the winner of the contest using the V5 for each vehicle. This must be completed before the car(s) are handed over. No insurance comes with the Prize(s) and the promotors will no longer have any responsibility over the Prize(s) once hand over is completed.

15.4 The promoters reserve the right to void any entries if we believe someone is using multiple names to enter a competition more than the maximum amount of entries per person for that specific competition.

16 Collecting the prize:

16.1 Entrants agree to being responsible for the collection (including any costs of travel to collect the prize) of the prize from Eastbourne, unless delivery is agreed by the promoter

17 If the Prize is a vehicle:

The competition promoter is not liable for the prize (in this case, a vehicle) after the winner takes possession, including any issues like repairs or maintenance. This means the winner is solely responsible for the vehicle's upkeep and any associated costs after taking ownership. The promoter also provides no warranties or representations about the prize after it has been accepted by the winner. The promoter is no responsible for the vehicle after the winner takes possession of it. This includes things like repairs or maintenance, which falls soley under the winners responsibility.

(a) The Promoter will provide, unless otherwise stated, a valid MOT if needed for the vehicle

(b) No vehicle road tax is included and the winner must insure the vehicle is taxed before taking it on public roads

(c) No insurance will be included with any Prize and it is solely the Winner’s obligation to ensure the vehicle is fully insured prior to taking it on the public roads

(d) the Promoter has no responsibility for the Prizes once it has been delivered or accepted in person, this includes things like repairs or maintenance, which falls soley under the winners responsibility.. The Winner is solely responsible for complying with all relevant laws and regulations relating to the Vehicle, its operation and ensuring they operate it in a safe and legal manner;

(e) the Winner is solely responsible for ensuring they have all necessary safety equipment and clothing (for example, helmets, boots and gloves) and wearing them whilst operating that vehicle.

(f) the Winner is solely responsible for all costs and expenses not inlcuded with the prize

(g) the prize is not negotiable or transferable
